Welcome Beginners!Welcome to the Trillium Academy of Irish Dance. Irish dance is an age-old art form that has its roots in the ancient history of Ireland. It has progressed and evolved constantly over the centuries to its present contemporary form as portrayed in Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. Irish dance is not only a beautiful way to express yourself, it is an invigorating and fun way to exercise. Owned and operated by Kathleen Maher Coyle, TCRG and Patty Scanlon Fleury, TCRG, Trillium Academy is delighted to welcome new dancers to our fall program. With many years' experience as dancers and teachers, we strive to offer an enjoyable and challenging experience to all our students. Classes are currently held in three locations: 1550 Chatelain, 2nd floor, Ottawa; Beaverbrook Community Centre, 2 Beaverbrook Road, Ottawa (Kanata), ON and Our Lady of Victory Church, 490, rue Charles, Buckingham, QC. This fall, we invite all new students to try our beginner classes for youth on Saturdays in Buckingham and Ottawa, Wednesdays in Kanata, and adult beginner classes on Tuesday nights. Below is the schedule: Ottawa Shoes and SocksThe shoes and socks are unique to Irish dancing. All students, new and old, should have traditional Irish Dance shoes and socks. We would like all dancer to wear bubble socks in class. We have a selection of second hand shoes at the Ottawa Studio, please take a look on your first day or check our for sale page, or contact us to see if we have something in your size. If you have shoes to sell or would like to see if we have any in your size, please speak to Kathleen. New dance shoes and socks may be ordered through Rosemary O'Brien, call 591-3764.
